Threshold is a generational care company that preserves the privacy and dignity of aging loved ones while providing insight to concerned caregivers. Threshold’s app leverages non-invasive sensors to monitor at home activity and vitals, alerting loved ones if the unexpected happens.
The Threshold team created a suite of multi-modal sensors that incorporate leading sensing technology (Wi-Fi, radar, thermal, ToF ultrasound, etc), with top algorithm partners in each respective sensing space.
As smart home veterans, they have partnered with proven and scaled manufacturers to bring a monitoring solution for elderly people. Threshold is designed to complement existing Senior Care solutions and services in the current PERS market and provide over-the-top awareness.
Threshold’s team of marketers and IoT developers initially contacted us in September 2023 with an ambitious goal - to create a high-quality mobile application for managing the IoT sensors, checking motion activity metrics, and receiving critical alerts to present it at CES 2024 (January 9-12 in Las Vegas).
The main challenge was to create a fully functioning MVP app, taking into account the CES exhibition date. We needed to move fast, keeping in mind the future scalability of the app to be sure that the User Experience stays stable and smooth!
OVERCODE’s team helped to create the core Healthcare product from scratch. First, we did Market Research and User Flow, and then UI/UX designs(including UI Kit and Clickable Prototype). After that, our team implemented designs into cross-platform React Native application using Expo, SWR and TypeScript.
We faced a challenging task: creating a user-friendly interface to make connecting and configuring motion sensors in different rooms a breeze. On top of that, we developed analytics that let trusted users track motion activity, with filters for time periods and specific rooms. We also built a smooth onboarding system for inviting new users into workspaces, complete with customizable access rights.
We created the initial MVP version in just ~3 months. Threshold’s team presented the app at a CES exhibition in early January 2024 and got much positive feedback about it!
After launching the internal MVP, we took the next step by integrating the mobile app with motion sensor devices. To make this work, we built a custom Bridge - this is a fundamental layer in React Native, that allows the JavaScript code and the Native code to interact with each other.
19 Jan. 2024 —Overcode perfectly met our needs: their UI/UX designers delivered complex mobile app layouts considering all the requirements and small details we asked for. Their development team exceeded all the expectations and worked hard to finalize the MVP in such a short timeframe!
